…except the hype man was just a guy holding a Macbook Pro, and the character wasn’t in a movie yet.
Went to Aziz Ansari’s taping tonight at the Brentwood Theatre and it was fun to see bits we’d previously seen him do at Death Ray in UCB’s intimate theatre, but now in front of a large live audience for his Comedy Central Special and the “Funny People” DVD - not in a “we’re so cool because we saw him before he started to get big (or at least known),” but in a “really glad more people are being exposed to his comedy, because it’s smart and funny and not Dane Cook.”
